The 55th Gleneagles Ball was another outstanding event. We danced to a wonderful programme devised by Simon Scott - who also did a masterful job briefing the dances. The Vancouver Fiddle Orchestra was once again in very fine form as was our piper Mike Chisholm. The ballroom was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the dinner and dessert buffet was delicious.
A big thank you goes to all of dancers who attended - from the lower mainland clubs, the out of town guests and the young dancers from the Dunvegan dance academy in Maple Ridge.
The Gleneagles ball committee deserves our heartfelt thanks for organizing this major event. Thank you Adrienne, Gillian, Susan, Heather, Maggie, Pat and Mike for all of your efforts in making the annual ball such a highlight.
The 54th Gleneagles Ball held on December 10 was a joyful occasion. With heartfelt gratitude we would like to thank Adrienne Salvail-Lopez, Gillian Muir, Susan Haug and the rest of the Gleneagles volunteers for ensuring that this Ball was the highlight of our dancing year. The stately ballroom was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the dinner and dessert buffet was delicious. We danced to a wonderful programme devised by Simon Scott. The stories behind the dances, including their historical significance was masterfully conveyed by Simon. The Vancouver Fiddle Orchestra was in very fine form and our Ball became a grand event because of their spirited playing.
This year's highlight was the bestowing of the RSCDS Vancouver Branch Award by Chair, Peter Richards to Simon Scott for his many years of dedicated contribution to Scottish Country dancing. Congratulations!
